Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood:
Laird grew up on Vancouver Island and worked for a number of years as a bookkeeper and accountant before beginning his studies for ministry.  He took his BA in Winnipeg and then went on to Saskatoon where he received his MDiv in 1990 from St. Andrew's College.  He was settled in the Meadow Lake Pastoral Charge and remained there for nine years.  In 1999, he accepted a call to Central, in Brandon.  Laird enjoys the pastoral aspects of ministry.  He is an avid reader; golfer (a dedicated duffer); sports fan.  Laird is married to Marie and they have two sons, Ethan and Luke.

Rev. Shannon McCarthy
Shannon was born and raised in a community just north of Sault Ste. Marie called Goulais River. After obtaining her undergrad at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Shannon discerned a call to ministry and attended Queen’s Theological College in Kingston. Upon completion of her studies in 1997, Shannon was settled to Climax Pastoral Charge in Saskatchewan. After three years in Climax, Shannon moved on to work as a Program Staff person at the Saskatchewan Conference office in Regina with a focus on Youth and Young Adult Ministry. In 2006 Shannon came to Central United Church in Brandon.

When not working Shannon enjoys spending time playing hockey, golfing, kayaking, biking, reading, and watching reality TV. Spending time with her three nieces is a new delight in Shannon’s life, her other passion is football, as a Saskatchewan Roughrider fan she can often be found on the highway between Brandon and Regina going to or returning from a football game.
